My Poem To You Arleen

A Poem
To the loving memory of my wife
and best friend of 42 years
and the mother of my five wonderful children,
Arleen Webb

Beyond the horizon, behind the sun
At the end of the rainbow Arleen your new life has begun
In the long hours of twilight beneath the stardust above
Beyond the horizon you’re now resting in His love

My wretched heart is pounding
I felt an angel's kiss
My memories are drowning
In my mortal bliss

Arleen you always touched me with desire
What couldn’t  I do?
Through flame and through fire
I built my world around you

Beyond the horizon, in the Springtime or Fall
I know your Love waits forever, for each of us all

Beyond the horizon, across the divide
'Round about midnight, we'll be on the same side
Down in the valley the water runs cold
Beyond the horizon please pray for my soul

Beyond the horizon, at the end of the game
Every step that you’ve  taken Arleen, I walked the same

My heart is dark and it's dreary
I've been pleading in vain
I'm wounded and I'm weary
Our loss is just so plain

You’ve come to the end of your season
I hope you know I always cared
They say that for our loss there's always a reason
But it’s beyond my reason why your life wasn’t spared

Beyond the horizon, the sky is so blue
It’s been more than a lifetime Arleen that I lived loving you.
